Membership
Members can benefit from VSC activities and supporting schemes. In return, they are expected to contribute positively to the Society and its activities. Membership of the Society is divided into three categories: Senior Member Fellows of the University of Cambridge who have accepted the invitation by the Committee to advise the Society are considered as senior members of the Society. Ordinary Member Current students of the University of Cambridge who have paid membership fees are considered as ordinary members of the Society. Associate Member Ordinary members upon leaving the University of Cambridge and pre-university students who are currently holding offers to read for a degree at the University of Cambridge are considered as associate members of the Society. |
Election
Reorganisation of the Working Committee shall be held at the Annual General Meeting at the end of the Michaelmas term of each academic year. Nominations for the new Committee (except the Senior Treasurer) are to be submitted to the Secretary before the meeting. Any member of the Society may be nominated for any position. The method of voting is decided by the current Committee, and a simple majority rule shall be adopted. In case equal numbers of votes are recorded on an issue, the current President is to have the final say in the matter concerned. Amendments To The Constitution In order for an amendment to be accepted, it must achieve at least two-third majority in voting. Dissolution A two-third majority of all members shall be required to discontinue the Society. In the event of discontinuation, all remaining liabilities are the responsibility of the Committee. All remaining assets must be donated to a registered charity nominated by members. |
